| In 1970, a young and ambitious Alan Clements first got the idea of opening a bulk candy
business while working at the local five-and-dime store. A few years later Alan took the leap and
started Sweet Services out of his one-car garage in Olympia Fields, Illinois. It was a slow start,
but in 1979, Sweet Services moved into its first warehouse in Orland Park, Illinois. As the business grew, so did the need for more employees. As Alan hired more employees, a young Mark Lehmann came to work in the warehouse. Not long after, thanks to the new ability of internet shopping, business began to BOOM! To help accommodate the new business, Mark moved into the office to help with sales. Over the years, Mark continued to gain more and more responsibility as Alan began planning for his retirement. Mark started running all the day-to-day operations, while Alan started spending more time in Arizona with his family. In 2021, after weathering the COVID-19 pandemic, Mark bought the business from Alan. Now over 50 years after Alan Clements first started Sweet Services in his garage, Mark and his family are running Sweet Services into its next chapter of business.
