If you organize booster club events to support your son or daughter’s extracurricular activities you’re always looking for creative fundraising ideas. Affordable, tasty bulk candy makes a fantastic fundraising product to help you reach your goals.
While selling customized candy bars is a crowd pleaser, it’s not the only way to use candy at Booster Club Events. We’ve assembled these fun ideas you can use at your school’s next sports, music, arts, or social event to raise money while showing off your school spirit.
Megaphone Bouquets
A cheerleader’s job is to keep school spirit high. These candy bouquets, arranged into a cheerleader’s megaphone, are perfect for selling at concession stands during football or other sporting events. Choose candy to match your school colors. Rah-rah!
What you’ll need:
Plastic megaphones (sold at party stores)
Construction paper
Glitter
Craft glue
Tape
Ribbon
Albert’s Twist Pops
Swirly pops
Candy sticks
How to make it:
- Choose construction paper in your school’s main color. Wrap the construction paper around the megaphone and glue it in place.
- Trim the construction paper so it’s even with the bottom of the megaphone.
- Add glue to the larger rim of the megaphone and dip in the glitter. Wait for glue to dry.
- Tape twist pops, swirly pops, and candy sticks (we suggest a combination of 4-5 pieces of candy) to the smaller rim of the megaphone, arranging the candy into a bouquet.
- Tie a ribbon around the smaller rim and arrange into a bow.
Larger, more elaborate versions of these candy bouquets make excellent raffle prizes. You can add pennants, pom-poms or noise makers for extra flair.
School Spirit Candy Bags
Customized candy packs in your school colors are perfect for selling at sports and social events. They are portable, shareable, and small. But they make a big impact.
What you’ll need:
Small gift-sized clear plastic bags
Assorted candy in your school colors
Ribbon
How to make it:
- Add different types of candy in your school colors to the small bags. We recommend sixlets, gumballs, or bulk milk chocolate M&Ms.
- Tie the bags closed with ribbon.
These bags can be made in various sizes and can be sold with concessions or used as door prizes.
“Guess the Amount” Jars
Fun games are an easy way to engage the community and candy is sure to draw a lot of attention. These jars can be filled with almost any small treat. Ask patrons to pay $1 or 50 cents to guess the amount of candy in the jar. The closest guess wins, and gets to keep the jar of candy!
What you’ll need:
A large glass or plastic jar
Candy
Ribbon or other decorations (optional)
How to make it:
- Choose a small type of candy, but not too small. We recommend ½ inch gumballs, Hershey Kisses, or Hershey Assorted Miniatures.
- Fill the large container with the candy. Remember to count each piece!
- Decorate the container with ribbon or other school-themed decorations.
For an especially challenging version of this game, try mixing different types of bulk candy.
To make sure everyone has a good time, avoid candies with peanuts or other possible allergens. That way everyone can join in the fun.
